Cybersecurity expert

At our Siemens Advanta R&D Center we are focused on a product development including software development, hardware development, mechanical design and testing for the next generation concept of Industry 4.0.

You will be part of our global cybersecurity organization responsible for defining and implementing technical countermeasures. Your daily cooperation will be two major counterparts - the global head of cybersecurity and project leaders and developers in the CZ office.

Your job is to make sure all our assets are properly classified, monitored, penetration tests and security assessments are planned and there are no hidden risks. Meaning you will be the main cybersecurity technical resource for our colleagues working on development projects.
Your counterparts in the same role will be all around the globe, so there is a lot of opportunities to grow and learn.

Your responsibilities:

  • assets classification (networks, servers, applications);
  • define security requirements, suggest countermeasures, and enforce cybersecurity to help us fulfill our strategic goals;
  • plan quarterly penetration testing and security assessments;
  • help asset owners mitigate findings from penetration testing and security assessments;
  • monitor vulnerability remediation;
  • provide know-how and consulting for developers, project managers, and management;
  • help us measure cybersecurity performance by improving the way how we operate and measuring metrics;

What we will appreciate from you:

Hard skills:

  • have experience as a penetration tester, security consultant, SOC operator/analyst;
  • elementary networking know-how (at least TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS are not strange words to you);
  • can scan port and differentiate between closed and filtered. Knows why UDP port seems open;
  • basic understanding of vulnerability scanning and differentiation between false negative and false positive;
  • operated GNU/Linux server and/or used it as a desktop operating system;
  • basic Windows understating;
  • English minimum B2 and willing to improve (expect 50% communication in English);

Soft skills:

  • grown and independent person with great communication skills;
  • open-minded and willing to learn new things;
  • logical and analytical thinking
  • ability to build a great relationship with peers and stakeholders based on respect;
  • good ability to convince not manipulate;
  • experience and sensitivity for different cultures;
  • no specific education required;
  • CEH, OSCP, and similar certifications are plus but not required;
